Cruck Cottage Launches Digital Guide

Cruck Cottage in Torthorwald is delighted to be the first organisation in the Dumfries area to launch a digital guide with Bloomsberg Connect.  Free to download and free to use, the app was created by Bloomberg Philanthropies to help make heritage and culture more accessible – not just to those visiting in person, but to people around the world.

The Cruck Cottage guide provides lots of information and photographs exploring the history of the building and Torthorwald village, along with exclusive video and audio content which brings it all to life.  The guide is also the place to go to find up to date information about special exhibitions and event programmes.

The app is specifically designed to remove barriers to art and culture with a variety of built-in accessibility features including voice over, captions and audio transcripts, image zoom, and font size adjustment.  We get lots of enquiries about the cottage from Australia and America, and now this provides a new window into this unique Dumfriesshire building.

We would love you to visit in person, our programme of open events starts on 26 April, but if you want to know more then you need go no further than your phone.  Download the app here Bloomberg Connects.
