A few weeks ago, we carried out our annual limewashing of the cottage. As always, there was a great turn-out of local helpers, and the whole job was completed in little more than an hour! The cottage is now looking very smart.
A bonus that day was the donation of a lovely tub of flowers, courtesy of Jim and Ann Carruthers. This now has pride of place at the front door of the cottage.
The Dumfries and Galloway Doors Open Days are on Saturday and Sunday, 7th and 8th September this year, and we are very pleased to say that the cottage will be taking part. We will open the doors from 11.00am to 4.00pm each day, and there will be live music, and various demonstrations by our craft friends. Tea, coffee, cake and biscuits will be available, and of course the peat fire will be burning. We pray for good weather and look forward to lots of visitors.
